I believe you are the same Susan whom I met at Cape Cod Sea Camps about 30 years ago. I googled your name and this was the first site that appeared. I just left my two oldest sons at Cape Cod. It was pretty amazing to go back!! If you are the same Susan who was my friend at camp please email, I would love to hear from you.
regards,
Maria Angelica Haza

Jessie -- great to hear from you, it has been at least a decade!

I have another commitment for this evening (in DC, wrong direction) but certainly would like to hear from you and perhaps find a moment to say hello and catch up.

Best of luck with the event,

LOL! That's the first time my name has ever been used following the phrase, "The girls like"...

Style differentiator:

You: Holding a trendy martini glass.
Me: Working on a Diet Mountain Dew six-pack.

(I will tell Susan to order a new, double-wide front door to accommodate my swelled head.)

Many thanks,
DH

wow! thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I love Columbia and worked with the planning that went into it and it is a thrill to see the new positive design leadership GGP has brought into our community.

Thank you for having a great organization bringing younger and younger people into leadership roles. The focus of buying locally is well founded and for me to be working on a destination Park will be great for Columbia as it gets built.

Thank you for this honor.

Actually, all HoCo libraries offer free wi-fi, but have disabled ftp transmission. If you xfer ftp large files routinely, this can be a bummer.

Also both the northbound and southbound rest stops on I-95 have free wi-fi.

The Supreme Sports Club has it (CA health club) and you can see the network from the lobby before you would have to check in if not a member.

Their Columbia Gym location, in Clarksville, was to be getting. Dunno, as I have not been there in a while as my girth easily confirms.

As a war driver, I simply open my laptop and drive through just about any Columbia neighborhood until I see a signal. (Thanks, WEP-less network admins!)

If you wanna mooch for free in most any Columbia neighborhood, here's how to easily make a super high-gain antenna out of a $30 USB wi-fi adapter and a $5 steel strainer.

Range: Up to 5km for normal wi-fi.

Amazing. In the Aug 3, 2006 issue of the Columbia Flier -- on the front page no less -- was an article about wi-fi service in Columbia. In it the author listed that free wi-fi in East Columbia was found at Panera Bread, Lifetime Fitness and the library.

Uh, hello. If I could find with a click or two in Google a whole list of free wi-fi spots, certainly one would think a paid journalist could as well.

And where oh where has our community journalism gone? The author lists PANERA bread? But not Blue Cow Cafe, or Donna's or Frisco Grille ... all locally owned and all on the east side of Columbia.

Hey, if y'all know of any other FREE wi-fi spots in Columbia, please post a comment here and I'll update my list. Thanks.

I came looking for comments on what I missed by missing the 6/10 party, but haven't found that thread - if it even exists. (I would like to know so i can at least get some vicarious bennies from the reviews - I'll keep looking.) I hope you all had a creative blast.

Just read Jessie's and your posts dated 6/18. I am totally aligned with you guys, love what you're up to, and the way you go about it. And while I feel for you Columbians and your search for transformation of what it means to be A Columbian, you could be more inclusive, you know - as you say you are. Besides the narrow focus on Columbia, you call yourselves American City Girls. While that's an attractive name, I have a hard time with identifying with that.

What are we all up to? what do we all call ourselves? American City Girls intent on expanding Columbia's identity and relevance? I'm a guy living in Gaithersburg, for christ's sake. Give me something to hang on to, to identify with, to stand for, to aspire to. Columbia? The Girls?

Think about it.

Still love ya.
